Klok came into being in Vienna, 2011. Due to their studies at the Academy of Arts, both the Swiss Roman Britschgi and the Southtyrolean Jörg Reissner came to Vienna. While studying there they fully dedicated themselves to playing music together. Through different projects along the years they have developed themselves in a well-rehearsed basis, which put them in the true light of rhythm section for various groups in the domain of Jazz, Folk, Klezmer and Balkan.
The first big theatre acting came in 2009. It was the "Alma" by Joshua Sobol and Paulus Manker, at the beginning being played with Maciej Golebiowski in the formation Kapelush (Extraplatte) . Britschgi and Reissner took the Bulgarian-born Lubomir Gospodinov for this theater act to be performed in Prague. Klok was born! Gospodinov has studied classical clarinet and jazz saxophone in Bulgaria and Austria. The combination of his origin and interest in Balkan tunes and rhythms transformed him into a multifaceted virtuoso musician. He gave various concerts with renowned musician as: Tony Lakatos, Jorge Pardo, Harri Stoyka, Martin Fuss.
In 2011 the freshly formed trio made its roundly praised tour in Switzerland and in the same year they started working on their debut CD. Together in the Bulgarian Balkan Mountains they developed a musical range that is characterized by the peculiarity of the composition and arrangements, the reduced instrumentation, floating grooves and improvising parts: The linking element is the preference for genre overlapping musical moments, with a touch in the East European traditional music, classical, jazz and oriental tones.
Several well-known musician were invited to play in the "65 Hähne", which also performed life with the Trio as the "Klok Project": Alp Bora vocals; Sveta Kundisch vocals, Alexander Wladigeroff trumpet, Sasha Nikolic drums.
In 2012 the cooperation with Paulus Manker reached to an end and as the Trio said: "after four years with more than 100 performances they wanted to tackle new horizons and promote projects of their own. With this in mind they have initiated the District Tour Vienna project where for each day they performed in one of the date's corresponding districts. As a further project they have composed the music for the play "Die Botschaft of Astoria" by Jura Soyfer. In the same year they have performed together with Alp Bora in "Impulstanz" for the Belgian choreographer Lieve de Pourq.
The close cooperation with Alp Bora brought the trio to the festival "Limmitationes", where they have presented an exciting mixture of the "Klok-style" repertoire with traditional treasury of songs from Anatolia.
They produced further sensations with their shows together with the Wladigeroff Brothers and with their new born project with the singer Manuela Diem, where the Balkanjazz meets the traditional Viennese music.
Their debut album appeared under the Swiss label Unit Records in 2012.
Their 2nd album was recorded in the wooden church am Gaussplatz in Vienna with guest Manuela Diem, and was released 2015 (Unit Records).
Klok has already worked for and with :
Christian Bakanic, Alp Bora, Manuela Diem, Mercedes Echerer, Giora Feidman, Harald Haerter, Vladimir Kostadinovic, Sveta Kundish, Jelena Krstic, Otto Lechner, Martin Lubenov, Paulus Manker, Antonello Messina, Sasa Nikolic, Lieve de Pourq, Radio Ara Luxemburg, Radio Orange, Ö1, Romanosvato, Rafik Schami, Nikola Stanosevic, Erich Schleyer, Theaterfink, Wladigeroff Brothers,...

Bulgaria meets Switzerland meets South Tyrol – at the center, a sound unique in its fusion of diverse styles and driven by the dynamic compositions of this trio of Vienna transplants.
